Coffee Break With Kimmy: 3 Metros Sobre El Cielo

Ola chicas y chicos! How're ya'll doing? 

Soooooooo. After my looong hiatus, I'm back and I'm back with a vengeance. I just had one of the best two weeks of my life. HAMBAMMM. Yep! Really, I feel like a new person! 

For my first blog for the year 2016, I would like to share the happiness brought to me by one of the best films that was ever made: 3 Metros Sobre El Cielo (Three Meters Above the Sky) or in short, 3MAS.

To be totally honest, I only had a chance encounter with this movie. I was searching for bad boy-who-falls-in-love-with-a-good-girl kind of movies and this movie, surprisingly was not included in the list on the website I visited. Lucky me, I scrolled down and found a comment by one good ole' samaritan who mentioned that this movie should be included in the list. So, I searched about it and found a trailer. MY. GOSH. I fell in love with the trailer alone. 

Immediately, I watched the movie online and betcha by golly wow. I can't even describe the feeling. It's better than awesome. For lack of a better term, let's say I fell in love. The Spanish movie is basically about a bad boy falling in love with a good girl. BUT WAIT.....hear first before you condemn! I know a lot of movies right now have that plot but baby, this movie offers SO MUCH MORE. Although  it has the elements of a bad boy-good girl movie, those elements are not the focus of this movie. You will find how stories of friendship, family, love, sensuality, innocence and a whole lot more are amazingly stitched together to arrive at this great film.

The movie was of course, in Spanish so I only understood through reading the subtitles. However, there is this scene which touched me deeply and it was when Hugo said that before, he was just doing bad things. His life was a monotonous one with no direction. He used to not notice other things but just the bad things which were part of his routine. When he met Babi, the lead female character, he started to notice. During that scene, he mentioned the date, he pointed an object, and other random things. He said that he can notice now. He can feel now. And all those is because he fell in love with Babi.

As for me, I'm forever indebted. This movie made me feel as human as I can be. :) Also, I would like to announce to the whole world that I am SERIOUSLY, MADLY, DEEPLY in love with Hugo "H" Oliveros, the lead character. My gosh. After watching the movie, I'm gonna welcome you to his fans club because baby....you can't possibly not fall in love with a person like that. Okay...I know. For the nth time, I'm in love with a non-existent person. Oh well, there's always Mario Casas Sierra, the actor who portrayed the character. Who will say no to his looks, his angst and his abs, ayt? And my gosh for the nth time, Spanish language is beautiful but the way Mario enunciates Spanish words is soooooo sexy I am willing to make and have babies with him anytime anywhere. Okay, I did not just say that hahahahahaha. 

I mean...seriously...look at that!!!!

Orayyyttt. I'm still at awe and I still haven't processed how in love I am with the movie so gimme some time to mellow down. I think I will be channeling the fan girl inside of me for quite some time.
