Kimmy The Bookworm: Kristen Ashley, Why????
Hey hey hey Sunday!!!!!
How y'all bitches doing? Okay, straight up, right now, I'm fucking stressing over Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick Series.
Here's the deal. I haven't told you guys about my big fat facination, if not even obsession, over Kristen Ashley's works. She's like my most favorite author of all time. I haven't even shared with you guys the thousands of times K.A. has helped me feel so many things, majority of which are great and yep, after reading her books, you would surely end up feeling great. And that's just plain K.A.. There are hundreds of authors who made me feel like that through their awesome books and I'm forever fucking indebted. Seriously. I would not have survived some of the darkest days of my life to date if not for their books.
Having said that, I would like you guys to know that reality is a bitch. Of course you know that already. Fuck me . But what I want to actually say is that in reality, nothing and no one's completely perfect. Even your favorite authors can disappoint you. They are human beings. They are flawed!!!!...which brings me to my point of discussion for today.
K.A.'s Rock Chick Series. Fuck me. It was Aweful with a capital A. Seriously. I'm not sure if K.A. made this series during her novice author days but oh my god. If you have read majority of her books, you would know how R.C. series is so much different in an entirely aweful kind of way. It's just so sad I wanna cry right now.
Each book would have these elements: Badass troubled girl, lots of action scenes and the thing that pissed me off the most, the protagonist's unreasonable and unrealistic resistance over the love she's feeling for her suppossed romantic partner. It's downright annoying. Like the guy would do countless romantic things for the girl, would declare his unconditional love for her to everyone, would do almost anything for her even offer his life for her protection and all these will be rejected by the girl only to accept the guy's love later on just because they had sex or something. It's torture to read stories like these. Come on.
The major reason why I like K.A.'s books is that she can give you a love story made in heaven between badass guys and lovely girls. Simple. Easy. Breezy.
But Rock Chick is a totally different story. It's a pain in the ass to read. So, I will definitely stop reading the remaining books in the series now. This, however, does not mean that my love for Kristen Ashley was diminished. Babe, not even a slightest fraction of love was lost. Nope. I'm forever in love with my girl K.A..
I really hope to be able to write more book reviews like this in the future. I've read hundreds of books by different authors and as I said most of them helped me get by and wing some of the darkest days of my life. 😍😍😍😍
Hokey, that's it for now loves.
XoXo
Kimmy
